About the event
The Alice's summer book club continues on August 26 with a discussion of Rosemary Ashton's One Hot Summer: Dickens, Darwin, Disraeli, and the Great Stink of 1858. We'll explore the sights, sounds, and smells of Victorian London, take a look at some related artifacts from the museum's collection, and enjoy some period-appropriate treats. A limited number of copies of the book will be available to borrow (first come, first served) and used copies are plentiful if you'd like to purchase your own to keep. It's also available as an ebook and audiobook.
