Costume School: Block Print a Kerchief With Natural Pigments

Block printed designs, ranging from the simplest dots or sprigs to elaborate multipart scenes and motifs, were used to decorate all types of fashion and household textiles throughout the 18th century. Use the same basic tools of the period's printers--wooden block stamps and natural dyes derived from plants--to plan and execute your own design on a cotton kerchief.
